I have an opportunity to acquire some brass dies for making middle eastern jewelry. Before spending the $$, I would like to know if anyone has had experience with the making of Kuchi jewelry. What is it made of? Anyone have any suggestions for materials and processes? Silver, copper and gold are out, too pricey for my budget!!

Thu, January 17, 2008 - 5:28 AMmost is of "Junk" metal--melted down whatever unless I am makinf for a someone who is allergic to nickle or specifically wants silver (pricey!) I use nickel. u can by sheet nickle in town--although usually cheaper to ebay-but I do support local when I can. Brass works for goldtone (it comes in diff colors--and even an approximate of copper)
Good deals on copper can be found-I buy scrap bundles---
